Activities
I would have my students brainstorm ideas of how they can be bucket fillers. After we come up with some ideas as a class, the students would then write their ideas on a worksheet. after they finish writing their ideas they can color their worksheet. Another activity for older students is to have them write about a time when they filled someone's bucket.
Hey Alexander,
ReplyDeleteI love this book! I actually used this book when i was on a placement last semester in a first grade classroom. We read the story together. I then had the students draw and then write if they could on a piece of paper something nice/kind/loving and when they were finished they put it in the bucket. After everybody was finished and they were all mixed up in the bucket, the students then picked a paper out of the bucket and looked at and read their new paper/act of kindness that they had! The students absolutely loved this lesson and it allowed them to share their ideas with their classmates!

I love this book!! I think this is a great book for children to read.
ReplyDeleteOne activity that I would do with this book is everyday before the school day is over, have students write something the did someone or a compliment to another student that had a bad day or even a good day. They then will place it in that students bucket so that student can read them the next morning.
Another activity have the students think of 3 different ways to be a bucket filler and have them draw/ write down their thoughts.
